Canadian Wine Clubs Grow Stronger and Stronger
Canada’s wine industry is healthy and growing. Producing a captivating product able to hold its own with the fabled Napa Valley in California as well as the revered Bordeaux region of France, Canadian wines have developed a loyal following. Canadian Wine Clubs have sprung up across the country, spreading the word of Canada’s success in the industry and educating wine enthusiasts in the process.
Canadian Wine Clubs can take many forms. Some are regional offerings, such as the Association of British Columbia Winegrowers www.winegrowers.bc.ca focusing on locally operated wineries. Many of these are small family operations in the British Columbia interior and on Vancouver Island. Emphasis is placed on the wine product being of local origins from the ripening grapes on British Columbia vines to the lovingly bottled finished product. Though membership is limited to vintners, the site offers listings of boutique wineries along with their descriptions, offerings, awards and website links.
Eastern Canada also has a burgeoning wine industry. The Ontario Wine Society, www.ontariowinesociety.com is a non profit organization that offers wine tastings and special events to increase awareness of local wine product. The Niagara and Toronto area vineyards have been most successful in taste test competitions on a global scale.
Wine connoisseurs interested in exploring the industry on an international level can find Canadian Wine Clubs that specialize in searching out unique and sometimes hard to find wines from around the globe. Some clubs such as Hemispheres Wine Guild www.hemisphereswine.ca offer not only an educational experience, but delivery service direct to your door. Not only do they represent wines from the Niagara and Okanagan regions of Canada, but from as far away as Argentina, Australia and a host of European nations. Of course the wine capital of the United States, California, along with its Pacific Northwest counterparts have not been overlooked.
Either you live in Toronto, Ontario are in British Columbia (BC) on the West Coast you can be sure to find a wine club that you find appealing. When the belonging to a wine Society you are knowledge of the the taste of wine will skyrocket. That's one of the reasons so many Canadians now belong to a wine club. Shouldn't you be interested your self, maybe you should give the Canadian wine club membership as a gift to a dear friend?
