How to Get Wine Out of Carpet

Accidents happen. If you find yourself with a wine stain on your carpet, take action immediately with the following steps.

First, as soon as you notice the stain, blot it with a clean cloth or paper towel. The faster you can do this, the easier it will be to get the wine out of the carpet. Secondly, if you do not have carpet cleaner on hand, mix a mild dish soap with hydrogen peroxide and treat the stain. Again, blot, as it is important not to rub the stain in further. Third, rinse the area a blot again with a clean cloth. Repeat this process until the stain lifts from the carpet.

Another method to try is to immediately pour table salt over the stain. It is important to do this before the stain dries. Give the salt a chance to absorb the wine, and then use a steam cleaner or shop vac to lift the stain and salt.

I can't say what the best way is for getting wine stains out of carpeting. I guess there are as many cleaning products or wine stain removal that there are people. Some people use club soda, red oxy, ofa or a home made product to get the wine out of the rug and carpets.
