What Kind of Wine is Pinot Noir

Pinot Noir wine is made from a red wine grape that is black in color. The red grapes are believed to have been grown in France's Burgundy region vineyards for over 2,000 years. The grapes are complex to grow in the country and the difficult to ferment grapes are now cultivated all over the world. Countries include the United States, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Canada.

Connoisseurs describe Pinot Noir as a light to medium bodied wine that varies in color from light red to medium dark red. Varietal of young Pinot Noir generally reveals red berry and cherry flavors, but as a wine age strong earthy flavors develop in the vineries. Pinot Noir is versatile enough to be served alongside a variety of meals.

The berry and earthy flavors and aromas best complement pheasant, duck, pork, veal, lamb, beef, salmon, shark, swordfish, mushrooms and butter or cream sauces. Prices of Pinot Noir vary by market and type of wineries.

Pinot Noir wine from the Burgundy valley is quite an experience that you will enjoy with tasting notes, good food and friends.
