White Wine Has Fewer Calories Over Reds

Have you ever wandered why does white wine have less calories than red wine? Here you will find the answer...

If you are a wine enthusiast and wonder whether you can still enjoy a glass of wine to relax at the end of the day and not sabotage your weight loss goals, the good news is you can! White wine is typically a few calories less per glass than red wine, holding at 100 calories for whites versus approximately 110 calories for reds.

The darker the wine is, the higher the alcohol content and therefore, the higher the calorie content. For this reason, white wines, regardless of the variety, are typically lower in calories. Sticking with the white wine category, dry wines will have fewer calories than dessert wines due to the sugar content added. Of course, your definition of a "glass full" may also skew calorie results!

I won't go into the nutritional value of the content coming from vineyards, but I guess everyone can agree that low (or non-) alcoholic drinks are to prefer over drinking frequently over the counter. The carbs in red and white wine I don't actually care that much about.
